Man Raised to Life

Alan Cross has an excellent blog, Downshore Drift, which is often filled with thoughtful questions and profound bits of knowledge. He is a Southern Baptist pastor, but he isn’t one to let his denominational ties prevent him from hearing from God or question things that he “knows” or has been taught.

This weekend I went by his blog and he had an interesting post that follows up on my last post about Faith Outside The Box very well. Alan linked to a news article about a dead man being raised to life in southern Florida. I have heard of such things around the world, but it is unusual to hear of these things in the United States, particularly for it to be reported in the news.

This man had no heartbeat for nearly an hour. All efforts had been made and he had been proclaimed dead. The doctor was leaving the scene when he sensed God telling him to pray. He prayed for his life and then asked that one last shock be given – even though every one else protested against this. His heartbeat and breathing returned. Many say that it was simply the medical treatment, but clearly had the doctor not been led to pray the man would have gone to the morgue.

Click here for the news article to which he links.

At this link you will find the story as told by the doctor who prayed for the dead man.

And You Tube has some of the media coverage:

Check it out and see what you think! I would also note that a well-known missionary with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Covention, David Rogers, commented on Alan’s blogsite that he knows this doctor personally, through his brother, and he understood that the story was true.
