FIVE MINUTES

That is how long I have in this internet cafe before it closes. What a whirlwind last few days. We’ve travelled what, 6000 or so miles, from England to Cagayan de Oro, Philippines?? The world is upside down in some ways and yet God keep refreshing us. All is well. Only Keaton, our 6 year old, has had any difficulties… he was vomiting most of the morning. Otherwise, all are well and we are beginning to adjust to the 7 hours difference between here and England and the 13 hours difference between here and Arkansas.

I wish I could write something amazing. But, in five minutes, well, I’d like to think I was that good. I can tell you that about 100 people joined up tonight from all around the world just to sing songs of praise to the Heavenly Father. We are preparing to advance His Kingdom here in the Philippines. May our every step be a step forward. May our faith increase. May our doubts be turned into belief.

When I ponder the fact that God brought 100 people together from all around the world to this one single place… that many of them come from jobs where they were making tens even hundreds of thousands of dollars a year… that many of them sold homes, left families, gave up jobs, brought their children, turned down promotions, left behind dogs, cats, and other pets, all to share God’s love in this place… well, I know that God did this. It simply makes no sense otherwise. In that thought and in that truth there is great peace, rest, joy, and hope.

And I can share that story here, every where I go. It’s not like people aren’t going to notice that I don’t fit in here. When I walk down the street, I’m about 6 inches taller at least than almost everyone. There are no other blondes besides my three children. The little girls look at my children like they are seeing angels for the first time. So, what am I to do but share the truth of God’s love for me and for them? I may not have a lot of silver and gold now, but I do have something much more precious that I can share and that is eternal relationship with the Father, a loving heavenly Father who wants them to have life to the full.

Thank you for praying for me and my family. My time in this cafe is gone. Good night.
