In March 2020, before the shutdowns, I taught in a Performing Arts Discipleship Training School at YWAM Tampa Bay. I was helping the students see how “false prophets” in their lives give them subtle false messaging about who God is or who they are in Christ. Read more
As we have been praying over the past couple of months about why God chose Siloam Springs for our next home, we have learned a lot about the community. “Siloam” in Hebrew means “sent one.” Thus, we can translate this as “missionary” or “apostle.” We had no idea we were being sent to a place called Missionary Springs or Apostolic Springs. We have begun envisioning a place in or near Siloam where missionaries are sprung forth to the Nations. Read more
Given what all is happening around the world, much of what has happened has involved canceling outreaches, training schools, and travel for teaching. Our schools in Kona and Chico, California scheduled to begin in April were both cancelled. We also were scheduled to teach in both of those this Spring, and we had to cancel those travel plans. I’m writing this while listening to Joe Portale share about pioneering YWAM ministries in West Africa. Joe and Judi, his wife, joined YWAM in 1969 and pioneered in the Sahara Desert in 1975. His book, “Taking On Giants,” is a great encouragement in perseverance and faith. Read more
It is a time to reflect and look forward. God is so faithful. He has consistently pursued us ever since Adam and Eve hid and when we each hide today. It is amazing to ealize that we started our pursuit of missions and ministry 12 years ago and God continues to pour out His character into our lives. We are so grateful that his love never fails. This week Dr. Stephen Sim and his wife took us to breakfast to share their heart for our time of teaching in Korea. They shared how many Korean churches use shame and eligious duties to control Korean believers and that many of the younger generation are leaving the church. They also shared that it is so important for someone to have professional credentials and education to be respected.Read more
It’s always a joy seeing the continued journeys of our families after Family DTS (an update written by one of our recent graduates..)
The sun comes up; it’s a new day dawning! His mercies are new every morning. It’s been a rough week. In fact it seems like everything is off the rails of late. Transition time is harder than expected. I’m uncomfortable being comfortable. All the old things just aren’t important anymore. We’re missing the community of believers, the daily immersion in a life of serving and the energized spirit that results. Read more
The older man was yelling loudly at everyone walking by about the darkness of their sin and how God sees what they do on their computers and such. Tanner said that much of what he was saying was true, but his method failed to engage the students and did little to demonstrate God’s kindness or love. Read more
The September Family DTS is coming along so well. A total of 9 staff families are leading out the 16 families who will be landing in Kona this Thursday. We’ve enjoyed training them and preparing them for what lies ahead. Below is a picture of the classroom.
We are excited to welcome 750 students on September 27th, who will train to go to the Nations in December. The new Family DTS has 16 families.Read more

One of the individuals who joined our outreaches in the Philippines was a single young man from Korea & Chicago who also is a teacher. After spending two months on outreach with the Family DTS he wrote the following: Read more
FJ Ministries was born out of a vision God laid on the hearts of Bryan and Tara Riley. Our Mission of F.A.I.T.H. is “Families reaching families as Avenues to the Nations, Igniting passion for God and compassion for people, Teaching and training God’s Word and character with Hearts and hands revealed.” We long to live by faith in all that we do. Colossians 2:6. We hope God will enable us to reach families and show them that they too can participate in the Great Commission. May our heart’s passion be for God and for serving others and in so doing encourage others to the same passion. Read more
